Friday the 10^th of September at Kranji saw the Australian bred galloper Peaceful Warrior score on debut with a measured ride from senior jockey Vlad Duric in a RT Maiden over the 1200m on the turf track. Peaceful Warrior is a three-year-old Australian-bred gelding by Bel Esprit from the Umatilla mare Let’s Begin and looks to be yet another promising addition to the Burridge Racing Stable.

The speed was lively from the start seeing Its Your Destiny and favourite for the race Aradea setting the scene from the front. An inside draw gave Duric a favourable sit in the box seat with Astronaut Man taking a sit just off the pace. Swinging down the back saw the front runners hold their position with Peaceful Warrior looking as the danger at the top of the straight.

With 200m to go Aradea was out by a length with Peaceful Warrior looming large on his outside. The favourite felt the pinch with under a furlong remaining and was under pressure as Duric moved the 3yr old alongside approaching the 100m mark. Although Aradea did fight on well in the concluding stages of the race the result was never in doubt as Peaceful Warrior drew away to score by a length.

Peaceful Warriors impressive debut win took showed how dedicated the staff at the Burridge racing stable are for success the horse had been purchased after featuring in some unofficial barrier trials in Seymour Victoria . Burridge commented “He was very green when he got here, but wife Julie and Peter (Foreman) along with all the staff put in a lot of work with the horse and it showed that the hard work is paying off for all concerned”.
