Apprentice J Farook ended the weekend’s racing with a double when he saluted on Coup Leader for Steven Burridge and Why Be for Laurie Laxon in the final two races on the card.

Steven Burridge's Coup Leader sat just behind the pace being set by Brave Heart and Tommaloms in the $75,000 Class 3 over 1200m, but when these two dropped off abruptly, Coup Leader skipped to the front.

He held off a challenge by Sapphire Racer (KB Soo) to win by a length with Divest (Sandana) finishing in third place a further three and a half-lengths away.
