Trainer Steven Burridge has five horses entered for the $125,000 Punter’s Way 30th Anniversary Cup (1400m) on Friday night, and heading the weights is the stable's highly-rated King And King (59kgs).
The six-year-old, runner up in last year's Singapore Airlines International Cup, has not raced since he blundered at the 1200m in October’s Raffles Cup dislodging jockey Richard Lim. After suffering some minor soreness in the incident, it has been a long road getting him back to peak fitness.

King and King finalised his comeback to racing with a 1000m trial on Tuesday. After settling near the tail of the nine-horse field in the early stages, the Celestial Dancer gelding made up ground in the home straight under light urging from Julie Burridge to finish sixth. Class 2 sprinter Fraar’s Salome won the trial recording a slick 58.9secs.
"I was happy with the way he trialled on Tuesday, he hasn’t raced for about four months and is not at his peak just yet," said Burridge.
"I’m just happy to get him back to the racetrack."
King And King is likley to target the $350,000 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (2000m) on April 15, a race he won last year.
Asked about his other runners engaged in Friday’s feature.
"They are all in good condition at the moment," he said.
The stable will also be represented by Tom Higgs, World Leaders, World Delight and Graduate Boy.
