The amiable Australian did not fail to jokingly highlight that
plight after he brought his first May winner in Risky Business on Sunday. Drawing blanks at the last
two meetings on May 2 and 7, Burridge has now consolidated his lead in the But Burridge thought the Danehill Dancer five-year-old was in a
spot of trouble at the top of the straight when he could not extricate
himself from traffic for apprentice Ruzaini Supien. ¡°I thought he would get out earlier but he got held up,¡± said
Burridge. ¡°Once he found daylight he just flew in. ¡°He¡¯s done a very good job for us. Very consistent, but just ran
out of luck at a few of his races. ¡°I own him and he¡¯s won six for us now ¨C can¡¯t complain.¡± Daring Commander (John Powell) and Zac Beat It (Danny Beasley)
shared the lead in the $75,000 Class 3 Singapore Airlines A380 Paris Stakes
(1600m) until the home turn where they quickly disappeared. New Rose Wood (Benny Woodwoth) looked the most dangerous as she
came with a sweeping run on the outside but had a tendency to lay in under
pressure, while Emergency Acceptor My Face (Sean Cormack) was also chiming in
on the outside. But once Risky Business ($52) weaved his way out of traffic, he
just sprouted wings to get up by a length from New Rose Wood with My Face
third another head away. Said Ruzaini of his 10th winner that puts him on
level terms with defending champion apprentice Mark Ewe: ¡°I got a little held
up but once he got into the clear, he quickened up very well.¡± |
