GOLD CUP BECKONS FOR BURRIDGE AND RISKY BUSINESS

The Burridge trained Risky Business scored a sparkling victory on Sunday afternoon at Kranji with a come from behind win and now becomes a serious candidate for the $1.35million Singapore Gold Cup over 2200m on the 14th November. With a quality field in the race such as the Michael Freedman trained Zac Missile and the Cliff Brown trained Clint, Risky Business under the guidance of Vlad Duric swept away with an emphatic three length win and grab a slice of the $95,000 prize money on offer.

Early front runner¡¯s saw Arjuna and Raphael stretched it out down the back at Kranji with Risky Business parked at the rear of the field and settling into a comfortable stride. Runners all held their positions in the running line until an injection of speed from Pina Colorda who fired to the front with 600m to gto which played right into the hands of the Burridge trained six-year-old galloper.

Pina Colarda snuck out by two at the top of the straight with Arjuna, Zac Missile and Clint all in striking distance, but it was the emergence of Vald Duric and Risky Business who got the gap in the straight and hummed home with Risky Business sweeping to the front in the straight powering on in the final 200m

The impressive nature of Risky Business saw the lead increase to 3 lengths and was unchallenged in the concluding stages with Clint and Zac Missile filling in the minors. Burridge said about the chances of Risky Business for the Gold Cup; ¡°We¡¯ll probably head that way with him now, he should get into the race on the minimum and he gives the indication he will run the trip, he¡¯s fit and in form and the Gold Cup should be run at a solid tempo.¡±

Risky Business has earned more than $500,000 in prize money for the connections of the Results Stable since 2007 and has recorded seven wins.  Risky Business is a six-year-old by Danehill Dancer from the Star Watch mare Sky Watch and was purchased as a private sale from Wade Burridge at Magic Millions.
